Political Committee to meet in Hämeenlinna

The EU's Political Committee, comprising the heads of political departments of foreign ministries, will begin a two-day meeting in Hämeenlinna, 8 July. The meeting is held at the Hotel Aulanko. The Political Committee handles matters relating to the Union's common foreign and security policy and deals with preparations for meetings of EU foreign ministers.

 Häme Castle
Häme Castle is one of Finland's medieval royal castles. It is believed to have been built at the end of the 13th century, following Earl Birger of Sweden's crusade to Häme (Tavastia).
